There’s something very unique about the perspective we gain with the law of attraction.
When things in life are going in a direction you’d rather they didn’t, there’s only one reason.
It’s not because you’ve sinned and are being punished, as some religions might say.
It’s not because you need to suffer to be worthy of heaven, as others might say.
It’s for one reason alone: you’ve tuned into something that is opposed to what you actually desire.
You’ve somehow gotten caught up on a wavelength, a vibration, that’s counter to what you want.
That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have other value, too. Sometimes we’re chronically missing something the Universe has been trying to show us, and so our own self-imposed suffering is the only way the Universe can wake us up and make us see what we’ve been missing.
But it’s by far the more painful of the options open to us. Not to say we don’t all go down that way from time-to-time: I certainly have myself.
Abraham-Hicks has a saying: if you miss the message your resistance has for you — don’t worry, it’ll get bigger.
I’ve been re-reading the book Dying to Be Me by Anita Moorjani. In her case, it took her getting cancer to wake her up to her own chronic disconnection. And once she realized, via the powerful NDE she experienced, she was miraculously healed, because she had received the message and saw what she needed to see.
Suffering is never the optimal way. The Universe would always prefer you get the message in some other, less-painful way. But we’re often stubborn.
So the question is, what is it you are tuning yourself to? Are you tapping into the abundance, freedom, and wellbeing that is all around you? Or are you cutting off that flow and tuning yourself to limitation?
It’s all up to you. No one is forcing you to choose either way.
Tuning yourself to lack and limitation will lead to, well, lack and limitation in more and more obvious (and painful) ways.
But tuning yourself to abundance and limitlessness will put you in the place to receive all that you have desired, effortlessly.
There’s a verse in the Bible that I’m reminded of:
“See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity. … Choose life so that you and your descendants may live.” (Deuteronomy [30:15],19)
It’s a choice you have on a moment-by-moment basis. It’s too easy to get caught up in life — in our own limiting beliefs and fears — and so to cut ourselves off from the flow of life and wellbeing all around us. When we do that, the result is, well, death and adversity (no, the death doesn’t need to be literal, obviously).
But that’s a choice we have made. And we have the choice, moment-by-moment, to choose differently — to choose life and prosperity. It just takes surrender, letting go, and trusting that all will work out. It takes letting go of the need to make it happen ourselves. It takes the ability to open up and simply allow the fullness of our true potential to express itself through us.
By the way, in case you didn’t already know, a while ago I started a Facebook group for those who want to discuss the law of attraction more deeply. You can check it out by going here:
It’s admittedly not the most active yet, but I’m working on it. ☺️
