Have you ever wondered what the difference is between manifesting and intuition? How can you tell if a feeling is an intuition, or a piece of resistance? How do you know if something happened because you predicted it, or because you manifested it?
That’s the subject of today’s video.
Anonymous asks:
Where do you feel that psychic premonitions fit into magick/LOA? Is a feeling that something bad is going to happen a thing that should be treated the same as resistance? How much can you change the course of events?
Check out the video below for the answer:
Melektoth: So that’s an awesome question. Let’s see if I can answer it.
Christine: This is funny, because you’ve been going through this, Melektoth.
Melektoth: I have. I’ve been doing a … Is there something specific you’re referring to?
Christine: No. Just how your intuition has been uncanny.
Melektoth: Oh God. That’s true. I had a thing happen.
Christine: You’ve had a few things happen.
Melektoth: I’ll say the one. You remind me if I’m missing something. So a month ago we were going to go to … actually more than a month ago.
Christine: It was the end of May.
Melektoth: We were going to go to Pittsburgh for an event, an OTO event.
Christine: It was our baptism. People know about it.
Melektoth: Yeah, I know in the EGC, whatever. An OTO event. I was super excited about it. As it approached, I got really anxious. What is this? I’m excited. I mean I want this. I was almost second guessing it. Why is this happening? I felt dread.
Christine: He kept this from me, by the way.
Melektoth: I did, because I didn’t want her to think … I change my mind a lot about things. I’m very-
Christine: Ask him how many religions he’s been in.
Melektoth: I’m very mercurial with my desires, so I change my mind a lot.
Christine: I would have gone without you.
Melektoth: That’s why I didn’t tell you though.
Christine: I know.
Melektoth: I didn’t want you to think I … I wasn’t, but it was just this dread. So we went. Everything was awesome. My mother drove us there. It’s 80 miles away, so it’s quite a drive. It was on a Tuesday night of all times. I mean I work [9:00] to [5:00], so it’s kind of inconvenient, but whatever. It was what it was.
Melektoth: On the way home, we just left Pittsburgh. Actually we were maybe 10 miles out of Pittsburgh, about 70 miles from home. My mother’s car you hear this snap and then the engine light came on and she lost power steering. She’s like, “Uh oh.” She said a little more than uh oh. We pulled into a McDonald’s and proceeded to panic. Basically long story short, her whatever, what was it called? Serpentine belt or something had broken and also her battery was draining so she would not be able to get home. Now, I was panicked because I rely on … I take a lot of different medications. I had a pituitary tumor when I was younger, so I need a lot of medications and I only brought enough for what I needed that night.
Melektoth: She’s like, “Well, we can stay in a hotel.” And I’m like, “Yeah. That’s great, but I don’t have medication for the morning. That’s not good.” So we’re panicking. This is a perfect example because we were so stuck in mind we didn’t let inspiration come up until I don’t remember who proffered the solution.
Christine: It wasn’t me.
Melektoth: I think it was my mother. Anyway, she tries to call her insurance, tries to get a tow truck, is going back and forth for 20, 30 minutes with insurance. They wanted to charge 200 and some dollars for this tow truck because we were, again, 70 miles from home. So they would only take her 15 miles for free. Anyway, we were there for an hour and not knowing what we were going to do, waiting for this stupid tow truck to come. I had to cover the cost, although I didn’t end up having to, for that. Eventually she said, “Wait. Why don’t we just take an Uber home?” I went, “Oh.”
Christine: Duh.
Melektoth: So I called and I had to pay for it because my mother doesn’t make a lot. That wasn’t fun. But anyway, I paid for this Uber. We took it home. She went back the next day and got her car all fixed up. But this dread that I felt beforehand I realized was because of this event that was going to happen. I don’t know if there’s anything I could have done to stop it or not, but it wasn’t specific enough that I knew what was going to happen. It was just a dread and the feeling was pretty accurate because I did feel panic and dread. It wasn’t pleasant.
Melektoth: That happened to me. Several other things have happened to me where my intuition has been pretty on point.
Christine: Mm-hmm.
Melektoth: It’s hard. I admit and I agree. It’s hard to tell the difference between anxiety or intuition. A few things I’ve observed is that intuition won’t just go away if you do these different techniques, if you accept it, if you question it, whatever. It won’t just go away. It might get quieter, but more persistent also. So it’s not just going to go away. Now, one thing I will say is the more you’re in the mind, the less the intuition will really be heard. If it is, it will feel a lot like anxiety. So the best thing that I would say to do to hear intuition versus anxiety is to go beyond the mind. Really practice going into inspiration, into the Zero State, questioning those thoughts, letting the thoughts fall away, and then seeing what’s left.
Melektoth: When you do that, it’ll be obvious. Either this isn’t a good course of action or it is and it’s just maybe there’s a negative that happens but it’ll be worth it. That was sort of how this was. I wouldn’t change anything. I would have still gone.
Christine: But do you think if you realized it was intuition, could you have changed it?
Melektoth: I don’t know. I really don’t know. I had a thing that happened years and years and years ago. My mother had a boyfriend. My parents got divorced or separated when I was two years old.
Christine: They’re divorced now.
Melektoth: They’re divorced now. She had a boyfriend when I was 11 years old.
Christine: Is this the weirdo?
Melektoth: Yes. I was in school one day. I got a horrible, just out of the blue, horrible feeling about this guy. She picked me up and I was getting into paganism and witchcraft and stuff. I was really with intuition and psychic stuff. I said, “I got a really bad feeling about this person, this guy.” She kind of took me seriously, but also didn’t really do anything about it. So pretty soon after, I went to a blind camp in New Jersey. While I was there, there’s this whole drama that went down with him where he threatened to commit suicide. The police had to come. It was really dramatic. Obviously they split up after that.
Melektoth: So I’ve had a lot of incidences where my intuition has warned me of things. I am still myself figuring out what is intuition and what’s just anxiety. But that’s what I would say is if you question the thoughts that it will clarify things. I had something that happened the other day, yesterday, where … I don’t want to get too specific because it’s regarding Dark Ascent, but my new Manifestation for Hire service. I kind of was feeling frazzled. Someone new just signed up and I was feeling enslaved to the process a little bit because it was a lot of stuff going on. One thing that happens, I said, “Can I have you wait a week because I can’t do too many at once or I’m splitting my energy in too many ways?” And that was fine.
Melektoth: The number two thing that happened, I was doing the work, which is a technique for releasing resistance, on this feeling that came up and realized I need to raise my price. That’s my truth. That’s my need right now. It wasn’t just out of insecurity or need. It wasn’t that at all. It was this is what’s best for me as a match to what I put out there, to the service I provide, to the value I provide. So I raised the price to $75 and felt a lot better. It was a huge relief after that. So intuition can do those sorts of things too.
Melektoth: So can you change it? I believe so. When you get a reading, and I do Tarot readings … So actually this is a good example. The first person that I did my service for as an experiment, I did a reading and it was a kind of negative reading and then did the manifestation for a week. Did the second reading and it was totally different. So a reading and your intuition will only ever tell you the current situation, the current energy of the situation. Can you then go and manifest something different? Yeah. Generally, yes. Because it’s just going to tell you what’s true right now. It’s not set in stone. It’s not passed down from above or something. This is what’s going to happen definitively.
Melektoth: It’s just right now the current course of events, this is what’s going to happen. And you can change it. It can be difficult sometimes, but you can change it because sometimes you have so much momentum in that direction that it’s really hard to change. But you can change it and that’s what manifestation is all about. Intuition, for me, or psychic abilities or readings or whatever is reading the situation, and then manifestation is changing the situation.
Christine: Yeah. Because even people that have a chronic illness or something would go to a healer. A lot of times it does something to go to a healer. You don’t just get stuck with a disease all the time. I mean I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, I mean sometimes. But most of the time, if they’re a match to that, if it’s their will, it’ll change.
Melektoth: Exactly. All right. Yeah. I mean you can definitely change it. It just takes a bit of work, but it’s definitely possible. Okay. So a follow-up to your question you just asked. Let’s see. “Is there a difference between receiving an answer through divine intelligence and your higher self?” It’s all kind of one and the same.
Christine: Yeah. Because divinity is within you.
Melektoth: Yeah. It’s all kind of the same. It’s just divine intelligence, your higher self, inner being, all that kind of stuff, I’ve heard Personal God. I really like that term.
Christine: What did you say?
Melektoth: Personal God, I’ve heard.
Christine: That’s awesome.
Melektoth: It’s a Thelemic term.
Christine: Oh I like it.
Melektoth: It’s all the same. It’s your True Self. It’s who you are at your core. It’s you as a God is how I see it. But divine intelligence is a more general, the whole universe as a whole. But yeah, I mean it’s all the same. You’re not going to really feel a difference. The higher self might be more specific. Or what’s really more specific is if you work with certain beings, then by name, I mean they’ll identify themselves and they’ll come through with maybe a more specific energy. But there’s also just the Tao, the flow of things. Your higher self is plugged into that. So it’s all sort of the same thing seen in different ways, seen from different perspectives.
Melektoth: There’s not really much of a difference. Like I said, where it really comes in is when you’re working with entities, with beings, with gods, whatever, whatever kind of spirit’s out there, then that’s more specific and they have personalities. They have traits, qualities, things like that that manifest themselves, but your own higher self, not so much.
