Note from Melektoth: Christine has written today’s post. Here she’s discussing a technique that has proven extraordinarily healing for both her and those for whom she’s used it: a technique called light language. A few of you will have heard her perform this technique before, though not for a while. Well, she will be doing more light language transmissions in the near future, so she wanted to introduce once more this powerful technique and how she came upon it.
Here is her post.
Spirituality has been a part of my life from the moment I was born. Being born with a severe form of congenital glaucoma in both eyes, and having my first surgery six days after birth, I came into the world with a bang. Because my parents didn’t know if I would die in surgery, I was baptized in the hospital as a Roman Catholic before the surgery. From the time I was born, I was cocooned in prayer from my loving family and friends. As a result of my many surgeries, my sight was damaged, leaving me legally blind.
I have always had to grow up in a world different from my sighted peers. I did have a little usable vision, but not that much. While my peers were using their vision to navigate the world, I had to use my other senses of hearing, touch, and smell, just to name a few. I believe this has always opened me up more to a deeper form of spirituality, even if I didn’t realize it yet.
Because of my trauma, I was often dealing with either chronic pain or some type of medical emergency. If it weren’t for my family, friends, and my faith, I don’t know where I would be today. Since I grew up Catholic, I was very close to God, Jesus, the angels, and saints. My journey to where I am today is very long, and not meant for this post. Suffice it to say that this post relies very heavily on my Christian upbringing, as well as the hours of research I have done.
I was very blessed to have a family who believed in the power of prayer and healing. I grew up in what is known as the Charismatic Renewal. For those that don’t know, there is this movement in Christianity called the Charismatic Movement. Pentecostalism is a major example of what goes on in this movement, but other denominations have groups that dedicate themselves to this movement. In it, phenomena such as speaking in tongues and laying-on-of-hands for healing are prominent. I was a magnet for being prayed over because people would figure out I was blind or in pain, and they would lay hands on me for healing. Contrary to my blind peers, I was very grateful when people prayed over me because they did it out of love, not pity. As I mentioned above, physical touch has always been very important to me, so when people would pray over my eyes, I felt loved. Not only that, but it really alleviated my pain, and that pain was constant at that time. Having those times of safety and relief kept me from going absolutely crazy.
My first experience of someone praying over me in tongues was when I was very little. I actually had the flu that day, believe it or not. I was visiting extended family, and one of my aunts was particularly charismatic. She prayed over me because I was sick, and I heard a strange language come out of her mouth. I was so intrigued I asked her what she was doing. Not knowing how to explain the phenomenon to a four-year-old, she said, “I’m saying some special prayers that I know.” I knew in my four-year-old heart that something very extraordinary happened in the spiritual realm. I didn’t know then what I do now: that the energy completely changed during that time.
I was seeking that experience again once I returned to my home town, but not knowing what to go on, I was sorely disappointed. My Dad prayed over me every night, and I asked him to “say a special prayer.” Well, he did, but it was in English. I got so upset because I knew I couldn’t communicate what I meant to him. It was a couple years later when I started putting the puzzle pieces together, when someone finally knew what happened.
At the age of seven, I began going to a prayer group where speaking in tongues and healing prayer were a central part of the prayer time. I just couldn’t let the experience I had with my aunt go because it was more than someone just making up syllables. I would get prayed over all the time, and many people have prayed over me in tongues. But I began to notice that some people’s energy totally transformed like I experienced with my aunt, and others’ would just fall flat, and I knew they weren’t as genuine, even if they didn’t realize it.
I knew then it was my life’s work to find out what exactly was going on here. I mean, when people would pray in tongues, and it was genuine, it was one of the most magickal experiences of my life. I knew the standard Christianity answer just didn’t cut it, so I did research.
In 2010, my real spiritual journey began. My boyfriend, now husband, didn’t grow up in the way I did. He grew up doing much more spiritual exploration, which got me curious. That curiosity is how I ultimately came to the Craft. Even though I left my Christian routes, those magickal experiences I had with speaking in tongues never left me, and I knew in the deepest part of my soul I had to somehow do something with it.
As I began doing research, I learned that this magickal practice was not originally a Christian practice. In fact, this practice is very ancient indeed. It is a shamanic practice, and was often used in magickal ceremonies of healing and possession. The oracle at Delphi was known to speak in tongues as she gave the prophecies Apollo gave through her. This gift was also a sign of someone’s holiness, if you will. The weirder the tongues sounded, the more blessed and god-like that person was. As I researched this information more and more, I just knew I finally stumbled upon something wonderful, and that magick was stomped out by the Christians who don’t use it in the right way, not being genuine and showing off trying to get power for themselves. That, and most Christians have no concept of how energy works.
As I continued my research, I accidentally came across a new term for speaking in tongues called Light Language. When I first stumbled across it, I couldn’t believe what I was learning because yet another level of mystery was revealed to me. With that being said, I don’t take it as far as some might, especially when they say that galactic councils are involved. That’s just not my cup of tea, but if it works for some people, why not? The main thing I learned about Light Language was that it comes from your heartspace. In other words, it comes from the Divine that resides in every one of us. And yes, because we all have that divinity inside of us, we can channel any being we choose using Light Language. I have focused on some god or goddess, and let the language channel through me. It is a beautiful thing to go through for sure.
Sometimes, the mind likes to get in the way of our magick. That is why it can be hard to really let it come through us to effect change. Our thoughts and emotions can really sabotage us. We often forget that it is our thoughts and emotions that create, not our physical circumstances. We create and do magick from the inside out, not the outside in. When we use this Light Language, we totally and completely bypass the mind so we can create change. It is a fun way to bypass the mind, and the energy that is as a result can be mind-blowing. The good news is you don’t actually have to learn the actual language, like you might if you chose to learn the Enochian Language. This Light Language is your Divine Language, and it comes directly from your Godself. As you tap into it and channel it, real change happens because you are tapping into the pure Divinity that is within you.
I mostly use this Divine Language when I do healing work for others. I have a whole system of healing where I exclusively speak light language over the person I am doing healing for. Some people channel this language with their whole body, while others may write it or speak/sing it. It comes through everyone differently, depending on their preference. However, I believe everyone can be fluent in all forms of this language.
I love using Light Language for healing and blessing because when I speak it over a person and/or a situation, I am speaking pure will and Divinity into it. As a human being, I don’t always know what is best, but my Godself does, so I tap into that instead. It has completely changed my life, and I hope to experiment more and more with it.
