
Things have really been clicking for me over the last couple of weeks especially. Concepts are sinking in in a way that I never quite got before.
As such I sometimes find myself feeling sort of like I’ve been given a secret cheat code to life, and as a result everything is far easier than others make it out to be. I have more control over my experience and the things I want come to me more easily.
What is this cheat code?
It sounds pretty simplistic at first, but stick with me.
It’s simply this: your mind is creative. It’ll create whatever you focus it on, whether positive or negative.
Yes, yes, I know—you know this already. But do you really practice it? Because I know that I often have let this understanding slip and not actually put it into practice.
For example, let’s say I get stressed at work and I get worried about a certain task I have to complete.
The normal approach is just to push through the stress and work hard to get it done. But then it feels exhausting, and more and more unsatisfying as my focus on that stress grows.
But with this understanding of the mind creating more of whatever I focus on, now I realize that I’m feeding my mind something that I certainly don’t want to experience more of. I don’t want more stress. I don’t want more uncertainty about a task.
So I do the counterintuitive thing. I stop working, sit for a few minutes and just release the stressful thoughts. I then set an intention for everything to be easy.
Now I can resume work with a new picture in mind—one of ease and effortlessness. And just like that, my experience shifts. The answers come, the work is easier, the project manager is more understanding. It’s like stepping into a totally different reality. The cheat code has been successfully applied.
Or let’s say I think about wanting more money. I realize that I don’t want that—wanting is lacking, after all. So I release that wanting and just decide to have it. Pretty soon, things shift and more money shows up, just like that.
It’s all about taking responsibility for everything “out there”, because there really is no “out there”. It’s all caused by the pictures you hold in mind and what you choose to focus on.
If you’d just apply this simple understanding day-by-day, life would shift virtually overnight.
