Your Path May Wander

It was in December, just two months ago that I decided to begin a membership, what I called the Order of Dark Ascent, to provide a place for new black magicians to learn the ways of the left-hand path.

Since then my own plans have changed quite a bit as I’ve picked up more information. I was given the idea to begin the print newsletter, the Circle of Darkness, which I realized would be someone’s first step into this membership, this path of learning black magick.

Often people expect to come up with their purpose, then have it fall fully formed into their lap.

But most often it takes a wandering journey such as the one I experienced, where you just get the first inklings, but then it morphs and evolves as you gain more information and experience.

Your purpose is fluid, not set in stone in the least. And what you believe it to be today will very likely change before you’ve reached its fulfillment.

The form that the Circle of Darkness, plus the Order of Dark Ascent, have taken today are totally different than I expected, but also in my opinion far better and more accessible to those seeking to learn more about black magick and the left-hand path.

You have to maintain an attitude of openness and flexibility as you work to develop your purpose. You may not—probably will not—see today where it will end up. But, it will end up somewhere far better than you could imagine, if you allow it to.
